For the past few months now I’ve been indulging myself In a fantastic Indie band form Jarrow & Newcastle upon Tyne respectively. Little Comets released Their debut album ‘In Search of Elusive Little Comets’ on theColumbia record label on the Janruary 31st2011. Firstly I’d like to say how awesome this album is overall, If your looking for a new sounding mash up of excellent Indie tunes that will make your feet want to twitch with emotion to the radiant beats then this is the album for you. Almost every track on the Album could be a radio hit with It’s satisfying intricate melodies and vocal harmonies you shall not be disappointed, I seriously can’t stress how good this band are.. Album Picks: If your going to listen to any three songs from this lustrous album then it would have to be ‘Dancing Song’ ‘Lost Time’ and ’ One Night In October’ If you haven’t listened them at all yet I suggest you get yourself onto the itunes store or whichever way it is you purchace your music because this band are one to watch. To sum up: In my honest opinion ‘Little Comets’ are they only band missing from this years Oxegen festival. With Pete Doherty now in prison. I couldn’t imagine a more prefect replacement I’d be more than happy, Signed: M

Since these two Irish lads burst on to the scene from the X-Factor back in 2009 there has been a media frenzy surrounding them. Whether you like them or not they get a lot of publicity. Mostly bad because of their ‘lack of raw talent’ but some praise especially from younger people due to the twins’ happy-go-lucky wild personas. They have grown in popularity since leaving the X-Factor behind. They’ve recorded a number one album, appeared on different TV commercials and most recently represented Ireland in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest finishing in a respectable 8th place going by recent Eurovision standards. The question is… are they actually as silly as they portray themselves to be for the media? Here’s what I think. These guys are just two well educated boys from Dublin, taking every chance of stardom they can get and grasping the limelight whilst they do it. They don’t care whether they get good or bad publicity because any publicity is publicity at the end of the day. These guys know that some people will dislike them and that some people will love to hate them. One thing’s for sure they’re really popular among young teens and kids because of their rebellious and hyper antics. Initially I’ll be honest, I hated these two but over time I’ve begun to realize that they’re brilliant at playing the media for fools and making lots of money while their at it. People all around the world want to see and meet these guys. They’ve become a sort of national treasure. With that I’ve come to the conclusion that Jedward are not idiots but are actually geniuses at what they’re doing. All I can say is, fair play to them and keep up the ‘good’ work. Our Monthly recap for May, Take a look.

Paul Scholes Retires
Manchester United player Paul Scholes has officially announced his retirement from the game. With a decorated career spanning over two decades he truly is one of the best midfield players the world has ever seen. He was a one-club man, having spent his entire professional career with Manchester United, in which he made over 650 appearances for the club. During his career he has received many honours which include; 10 Premier League titles, 3 FA Cups, 2 League Cups, 5 FA Community Shields and 2 UEFA Champions League winning medals. On Scholes in general players of the past and present have commented on his character and ability, Zinedine Zidane once commented “My toughest opponent? Scholes. He is undoubtedly the greatest player of his generation.” When asked about Paul Scholes Manchester United and England hero Bobby Charlton lauded him, “Paul is always so in control and pin-point accurate with his passing - a beautiful player to watch.” On several occasions, team-mate Wayne Rooney has cited Scholes as the best player he has ever played with. Earlier this year, Barcelona midfielder Xavi, also rated Scholes as the best player in his position in the past two decades. He said of the Englishman: “A role model. For me, and I really mean this, he’s the best central midfielder I’ve seen in the last 15, 20 years. He’s spectacular, he has it all, the last pass, goals, he’s strong, he doesn’t lose the ball, vision. If he’d been Spanish he might have been rated more highly. Players love him.” These few accounts on Scholes just go to show how highly he was rated in the world of football. Overall: Paul Scholes will be missed from the game but will always be remembered as one the greatest role models and technically sound footballers the world has ever seen. I bow to you Scholesy. Well done and thanks for everything. Signed: J
